AKRON, Ohio — A woman with a history of suffering heroin overdoses had her fourth recent overdose, this time in front of her two nieces, according to police.
Lisa Thompson, 47, faces two charges of child endangering in the incident that happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday at a Kipling Street home near Coventry Avenue.
Thompson was issued a summons to appear at 1 p.m. March 17 in Akron Municipal Court, according to the clerk’s office.
The 10-year-old and 4-year-old girls ran out of the house when Thompson overdosed and ran to a nearby family member’s home, according to a police report. The girls said they thought their aunt had died.
Family members called 911. Paramedics and police arrived and revived Thompson with three doses of Narcan, a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Thompson’s struggle with opioids resulted in a series of overdoses that began in July 2016, police said.
